French far-right leader Marine Le Pen he claimed this Sunday in his statements to BFMTV that the anti-Russian sanctions were “ineffective” in achieving their objectives and harmed those who imposed them more.

In May, EU members agreed to partially ban the export of Russian oil to the 27-nation bloc. Given this, European leaders are looking for alternatives to replace supplies from Russia in order to meet energy demand and put a stop to the disproportionate rise that fuel prices have experienced in recent months.
Thus, at the end of June, France asked Iran and Venezuela to return to the oil market, and also requested that the countries that supply the international market increase their crude production “in an exceptional manner.”
