They promote a law to donate land in the former Bolivian Free Zone to Rosario – Diario El Ciudadano y la Región

The block of socialist deputies and deputies promotes a bill to permanently donate to the Municipality of Rosario the lands that belonged to the Bolivian free zone and are integrated into the National Park a la Bandera.

The initiative was presented by the provincial deputy and former minister of Infrastructure and Transport of the province, José Garibay, who assured that Rosario “must definitely have the ownership of this space, disengage it from the land owned by the province and thus allow the city can consolidate an open and continuous route of public access to the river ”.

“From the Progressive, Civic and Social Front, we have always worked to expand and beautify the green spaces of the city. A State policy that was sustained in the administrations of Hermes Binner, Miguel Lifschitz and Mónica Fein, and that consolidated Rosario as the city with the most square meters of green space per inhabitant in Argentina ”, stated the legislator.

In 2019, through timely procedures, and after decades of efforts, these lands were returned to the province of Santa Fe and through the Puerto Rosario Administrator Entity (Enapro) the takeover was completed.

The property has a dimension of 550 meters in length by approximately 60 meters in width (more than 33,000 square meters) and is located in the center of the bank of the Paraná River, it extends along the coast of the Paraná River from the height of San Juan street towards the south, until Pellegrini avenue. In the place a space for public use is projected.

The Municipality of Rosario has started a process of cleaning the place and removing scrap metal that improve the space. These preventive tasks prevent the growth of pastures, which with the accumulation of machinery and disused elements could have a health consequence.

“With the intention of consolidating the rights of the city of Rosario over the land in question, the law aims to recover and further expand the public spaces of the National Flag Park and will allow the city to have a new balcony to the River” Garibay concluded.
