They feel unhappy… A Kuwaiti study raises the alarm about “youth depression”

Local Kuwaiti newspapers reported that a National Assembly investigative commission revealed that 142 people had forged university degrees issued by Egyptian universities and that the forgery process was carried out with the help of employees of the Kuwaiti Cultural Bureau in Egypt.

This was stated by the head of the educational affairs commission, Hamad Al-Matar, in a speech reported by the electronic newspaper “Al-Majlis”.Daily newspaper The parliamentary commission of inquiry, issued by the National Assembly’s Education Affairs Committee, concluded that 142 citizens had obtained false certificates issued by Egyptian universities.

The parliamentary commission of inquiry issued by the National Assembly’s education affairs committee met to discuss the issue of false certificates, in the presence of the minister of education, the minister of higher education and scientific research, Hamad Al-Adwani, and higher education leaders, according to Al-Jarida.

Al-Matar said in statements to Al-Jarida that the investigative commission has begun serious work to find out the circumstances of the forgery operations, which began years ago in university diplomas, to reach the full truth with numbers, names and people involved, both whether they were expatriates or citizens.

He explained that the investigation revealed in principle that an expatriate working in Kuwait was behind the forging of these certificates, and the security authorities detained him, indicating that the certificates were issued by real universities in Egypt , but they were fake.

He added that this expat is currently being held with sentences ranging from 50 to 60 years, depending on each certificate he forged, and that the value of forging a certificate varies between 300 dinars (about $980) and 500 dinars (about $1,632).

He stressed that the commission of inquiry wants to find out the circumstances of all the cases of forgery of this expatriate and the citizens who helped him, “some of whom are employees of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in Egypt.”

Al-Matar said, “In the next meeting, we will convene the Minister of Higher Education and ministry leaders, as well as the Civil Service Bureau, the Interior Ministry, the head of Kuwait’s Cultural Office in Egypt and the workforce, to investigate every matter big and small about fake certificates and reach out to all the threads of this big matter.” .
