They discovered a mysterious holiday resort in Masuria. No tourists, no trace. The Town Hall translates

Activists of the association The City is Ours found in Masuria 33 wooden holiday houses, a Masurian cottage and a hotel with a canteen. The facilities are part of a mysterious center located on Lake Sasek Wielki.

Despite the picturesque surroundings, however, there is no trace of tourists. The buildings are neglected and the area is overgrown, as the building has been empty for 16 years. It is known, however, whose property it is. It belongs to the capital city of Warsaw. So why aren’t there any going on in the center? work repair? We asked the town hall about it.

The Town Hall explains why there are no tourists in the resort in Masuria

– The Recreation Center in Kobyłosze is owned by the capital city of Of Warsaw since 2012. The city cannot invest in the modernization of the center in Kobyłosze – an obstacle in its development is the unregulated legal status of three plots, two of which are run by a municipal road crossing the fenced center – we read in a statement sent to the editors of Next.gazeta.pl by Tomasz Kunert, deputy press spokesman of the City Hall Warsaw.

The press office of the town hall informs that many years of efforts (including court proceedings) to regulate the status of the plots on which the center is located have not been successful. In this situation, the city cannot spend on renovation or modernization of the center so that it meets the current standards and regulations regarding the organization of leisure.

– We will try to regulate the legal status again, incl. ascertainment of acquisitive prescription of the plot constituting part of the municipal road passing through the area of the center and of the land by the lake. Only after the legal status of the area of the entire center is regulated, we will be able to propose a few recommendations to the City Council, inform representatives of the town hall.

They also present possible solutions. Among them, the modernization of the center, the cost of which is estimated at several million zlotys. The center can also be leased or sold.
