Virginia, United States – Three people convicted of covering up the murder of a teenage girl from Virginia when she broke up and burned her body received prison sentences.
Megan Metzger was 19 when she was shot in the face during a meeting in Spotsylvania County in 2018, according to police. She was in a group of people who used methamphetamine when David David Weston Newton, 22, accused her of being a police informant and shot her, police officers and the defendants themselves declared in court.
Juan Benavidez III, 20, and Keelyn R. Codynah, 25, were accused of mutilating the body and burning and burying the parts in different places. Robert Keating, 27, owner of the house where the events took place, was accused of exchanging the weapon used in drug murder, among other measures to cover up the crime.
Newton was sentenced to 40 years in prison for aggravated homicide.
Monday, William Glover condemned Benavidez at 13 years of pressure, Codynah at 16 and Keating at 21, the newspaper reported Fredericksburg Free Lance.
