Accused of the crime of aggravated robbery on a continuous basis, the Civil national police (PNC) and the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) captured the former manager of a banking agency, as they point him out for having misappropriated more than Q718 thousand, property of the bank for which he worked.
This is Marlon Estuardo Lorenzo Vásquez, who was investigated by the Bank Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime, whose detectives carried out a raid in the El Cementerio neighborhood, Jocotán, Chiquimula, where they managed to arrest him.

According to an investigation by the prosecution, in his capacity as manager of the banking agency, in the period from October 24, 2015, to October 30, 2017, Lorenzo Vásquez activated the user assigned by the bank to review accounts, query balances and early cancellations of 10 fixed-term certificates of deposits.
The syndicate used his position and functions to have access to privileged information and carry out at least 25 money withdrawals, thus completing his plan to defraud the bank’s assets.
