These new (and old) corona measures apply from today

The QR code will be used in more places from today and mouth caps are mandatory again in shops. Last Tuesday, outgoing Prime Minister Rutte and Minister De Jonge announced these and other measures at their corona press conference; now they have entered.

To reduce the number of infections, the cabinet also calls for basic measures – such as not shaking hands and staying home in case of complaints – to be observed again. Furthermore, the urgent advice is to keep one and a half meters away from each other. The ‘domestic travel advice’ is also back: avoid crowds on the road and travel outside rush hour.

First: the mouth caps

In all publicly accessible indoor spaces, such as shops, stations, hospitals and government buildings, the mask is now mandatory again. The obligation also continues to apply in public transport and at airports. Face masks must also be worn again in MBO and higher education, but only when traveling.

Also in contact professions, such as the hairdresser or masseur, a mouth cap has to be worn again. An exception is made for sex workers.
