economic researcher Uni Hamburg have analyzed several years of business data from companies in various sectors. The focus was on which own investments the companies advanced.
Software, training, advertising
The study was able to refute a previous assumption that money for research and development in particular drives companies forward. The study was only able to determine the connection for companies that produced high-tech. Rather, most companies, such as those in the service sector or manufacturing sector, benefited from three other investments: if they put more money into new software, in training their employees and in advertising.
