The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda issued a resolution, published on Thursday in n Official State Gazette (BOE)in which it establishes the conditions and steps to be followed to acquire the new free pass that will allow you to travel for free on Galician trains and the rest of the communities of Spain.
Pursuant to this resolution, recurring travelers from Cercanías, Rodalies and Media Distancia Convencional will be able to purchase the new free subscription starting next 24 Augustwith which they will be able to travel on these trains from 1 September to the end of the year.
Since August 8, users have been able to register on the website and applications of Renfe and Renfe Cercanías a prepare the documents for August 24th. Users who normally use Renfe tools will have already performed this step, as it involves logging data.
For the purchase of the season ticket it will be necessary to pay a deposit. In the case of Cercanías and Rodalies, the deposit to be paid when purchasing the pass will be 10 euros, preferably by credit card, so that the refund is automatically returned to that card, provided that the user has made a minimum of 16 trips.
In case of non-compliance with the minimum number of trips provided, the deposit will be considered a compensation and will not be returned to the user. In the event that the deposit is paid in cash, the refund of the deposit must be requested at the ticket offices, customer service offices or any other after-sales service authorized by Renfe for this purpose.
To issue the subscription, The user ID and / or mobile phone will be registered. If this condition is met, a discount for large families can be applied to the amount of the deposit.
During the marketing period of the new recurring subscription, the sale of the rest of the usual subscriptions will be suspended, although those previously purchased They will keep the validity with which they were acquired and can be used.
The subscription will be purchased for each Cercanías core, that is if the user uses it in Madrid, he will have to purchase the one linked to this region. It is recommended to purchase it through the Renfe Cercanías app: the ‘free pass for frequent travelers’ option will be selected and a seven-digit QR code will be generated with which it is possible to travel, or exchange it at the machines to have it in physical format (it will be free only the first time).
In the case of Conventional Medium Distance the deposit will be 20 euros. The stations of origin and destination to which they will travel during these four months will be selected and subsequently any trip they want to make will be formalized on any of the usual media, although digital is recommended. If a minimum of 16 trips are made, the deposit will be refunded.
In the case of the Avant, current subscriptions will be marketed at a 50% discount. Likewise a new subscription was created for some AVE and Long Distance services with a 50% discount..
