These are the cameras of OnePlus 9: first image and details

Yesterday we saw the offers that OnePlus is setting up for Black Friday 2020 (which concern, among others, this year’s flagships), but the Chinese manufacturer already has an eye on the future, which responds to the name of OnePlus 9.

The OnePlus 9 cameras: leak

The indiscretion machine proceeds swiftly and, having already put it together quite a bit of information on the long awaited OnePlus 9, complete with a first render, today a live image and interesting details on the photographic sector.

The leaked image, which you see below, confirms what is highlighted in the previous render: OnePlus 9, except for reversals, will be equipped with a triple rear camera. The image shows the sensors arranged “like a traffic light”, with the first two taking up much more space than the third, flanked by an LED flash.

The source also reports important technical details. The OnePlus 9 photo set-up should consist of a pair of 48 MP sensors and a third sensor unknown for now.

The main sensor should have 4-in-1 pixel binning technology, for images at a resolution of 12 MP (4,000 x 3,000 pixels), and a focal length of 6mm. The source is confident that this sensor is not the Sony IMX586, but does not confirm or deny its identification with the IMX689 (to be clear, the same as OnePlus 8 Pro).

The second 48 MP sensor of OnePlus 9 will in all probability be equipped with ultra-wide optics, also in this case similar to the OnePlus 8 Pro, which uses the Sony IMX586 as ultra-wide angle.

The third and final sensor could be monochrome or macro, but at the moment they are mere hypotheses.
