The Hamptons dominate the list of the most expensive neighborhood in the Northeast, with Sagaponack, New York, in first place.

A beach town home to Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon, Sagaponack ranks second after Atherton, California, for the most expensive zip code in the United States in 2022, in terms of median home value, according to data provided by RealtyHop real estate service.

The median cost of a home in Sagaponack is $6,972,500, compared to $9,000,000 in Atherton.

The second most expensive zip code in the Northeast is in the Back Bay area of ​​Boston. It’s a small area for a zip code, made up of a few blocks of upscale condos next to the Prudential Center. The analysis looked at zip codes in the Northeast as defined by the Census Bureau, which includes the following states: Connecticut, Maine, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

To compile the rankings, RealtyHop analyzed prices for all home types in all zip codes in the United States between January 1, 2022 and October 19, 2022. Listings with invalid zip codes were excluded, including posts of individual buildings.
