The Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) confirmed that 2019 was the most violent year in modern Mexico since registration, so there can be no other data.
According to their figures, in the first year of the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador the highest number of malicious homicides was reached, 34 thousand 562, to which we must add 968 feminicides, figures that give, a balance of 35 thousand 530 murders, which gives an average of one homicide every 15 minutes during the 365 days of 2019, a figure that does not reach any democracy in peacetime.
According to the SESNSP, the state with the highest number of homicides in 2019, as in 2018, was Guanajuato, with 3 thousand 540, 10 percent of the national total, which if added to the 2 thousand 856 of the State of Mexico, 2 thousand 848 of Baja California, 2 thousand 663 of Jalisco, 2 thousand 542 of Chihuahua and 2 thousand 49 of Michoacán, represent almost 50 percent of the national total.
These figures maintain the trend that we dragged since 2006, when the malicious killings totaled 11,806; 21 thousand 459 in 2012; and 33 thousand 369 in 2018 to break, in 2019 that historical mark with 34 thousand 562 homicides, 4 percent more than the previous year, last of Enrique Peña Nieto.
In these figures there is the paradox, that the state with the highest number of criminality is Guanajuato, with 3,540 intentional homicides and the lowest is Yucatan with 32, both states governed by the PAN, which makes it clear that the Ideology has nothing to do with crime, because the second worst is the State of Mexico, PRI, with 2 thousand 856 homicides, the most populous entity in the country, with the second least violent, Baja California Sur, governed by the PAN, with 74, which proves that violence does not happen by the number of inhabitants or by the parties, but by impunity.
