There are no players in the North American national hockey team, Gudlevskis has returned – Hockey

The Latvian national team includes five goalkeepers, ten defenders and 16 attackers. A total of 25 hockey players will be allowed to enter the Olympic Games.

Goalkeeper Kristers Gudlevskis, who recently joined the Swedish Premier League (SHL) club in Gävle “Brynas”, has returned to the national team after a long break.

Kristaps Sotnieks, who has played in the last two world championships, is not among the candidates.

The Latvian national team of coaches has also compiled a list of reservists. This list includes a number of players who will continue to prepare individually and complete documentation for the biggest sports forum of the year. In case of injury or illness, one of the reserve hockey players could join the Latvian national team.

The national team will start preparations for the Olympic Games in Beijing on January 24 at the Daugava Ice Hall. The team led by Harry Vītoliņš will go to the Olympic Games on February 2.

The Latvian national team will play two test matches in preparation for the Beijing Olympic Hockey Tournament. On February 5, Latvians will compete with the 2018 Olympic champions in the team of Russian Olympic athletes. This game will take place in the “National Indoor Stadium” (NIS) competition arena, and will start at 13.45 Latvian time.

In the second fight on February 7, Harry Vītoliņš’s subordinates will compete with the Danish team. This game will be played in the NIS training hall, and will start at 11.15 am Latvian time.

The Latvian national team will open the Beijing Olympic Tournament on February 10, when it will meet with Sweden, the next day it will compete with Finland, and on February 13 it will fight Slovakia.
