„There are days like that too!…” is the title of the upcoming exhibition of the artist Orlin Atanasov, which will be opened on December 4, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the “Bulgaria” hall.
The cycle of days always takes us to the same place on the calendar. The difference is that a year has passed. It’s like that for everyone, and each of us has “our” dates, the expected happy days of the year.
For the artist Orlin Atanasov, December 4 begins to become such a special, happy date. It’s his day! Then he opened exhibitions. Last year on December 4 in club “Room No. 5” in Sofia was the first in which the main character was “the coffee”. Yes, the coffee bean – alone or in company. Sometimes in strange company.
Orlin Atanasov likes to experiment. He places the coffee bean among the most incredible creations of nature, or combines it with unexpected biological materials, combines it with sometimes startling, challenging waste. Yes! For example, trash from the beach. The ability, walking around the tide to see an element of a future picture is a priority only for the “chosen”. Coffee actually becomes an unexpected occasion, a thread connecting his various thoughts. It brings him infinite satisfaction from “the pleasure of surprising yourself”, as he himself says and continues: “If you really succeeded, the viewer will also react to the provocation.”
The author’s business card amazes with the variety of activities: In fact, Orlin is graduating in illustration at the National Academy of Art and a schedule is attached. Life, however, meets him with the professions of plasterer, bronzer, carpenter, mason-plasterer, welder, art editor, technical editor, head of design team – web technologies, spatial designer, artist of children’s TV shows… Since January 2015 .he has another challenge ahead of him – he is engaged as a consultant for the scenography for an opera production at the emblematic Ruse Opera House.
Orlin Atanasov’s name can be found on many book covers, library layouts, CDs, reserved signs. Also its realization is the large-scale project of the 12-volume big encyclopedia Bulgaria – BAS.
