Theater of Fine Arts | Teatro Daile invites the public to a witty “Retreat”

The premiere will be held on Saturday 17 December in the Sala Grande of the Teatro Daile.

The theme of the New Year’s party at the Daile Theater will begin with a witty show, in which many will be able to see reflections of the life of today’s people, for whom they want to publicly present their life a little more beautiful than they really are. Michael Winn’s “Retreat” show, which was appreciated by audiences and critics, was directed by Daile Gat Šmit.

Five friends and a beautician they met the night before meet in an abandoned manor house to celebrate New Year’s Eve together. The manor has been beautifully restored and created as a retreat for those for whom the daily noise and bustle has become too much. Friends have not met for a long time, although they were once inseparable. Everyone tries to appear successful, even though life has thrown its own challenges.

The writer Kate recently divorced her husband, the architect Daniel has achieved a lot in his career, but is still looking for love on the Internet. Ben only met Laura the night before her and brought her to her party as her girlfriend. Karl is an actor who everyone knows only from his role in a coffee commercial, but his wife Rebecca was once awarded the prestigious BAFTA award. Now their life revolves only around the two children they have in common.

Partying and drinking together brings out everyone’s true dreams that have been pushed aside. Although everyone has their own experiences, they will also have to discover that a ghost really lives in the abandoned manor.

The success of the show “New Year’s Retreat” (originally “The Priory”) began in 2008 at the Royal Court Theater in London, but its productions still make people laugh in many countries around the world. The show received the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award in the “Best New Comedy” category.
