The young woman who, at the beginning of June, fatally hit a four-year-old girl with her car, in Iasi County, was sent to court only for driving a vehicle without a driver’s license. The prosecutors filed the case for manslaughter, considering that he could not have avoided the accident and that there is no causal link between the fact that he did not have a license and the child’s death, reports News.ro.
The prosecutor’s office attached to the Hârlău District Court announced, on Thursday, through a press release, that a woman was sent to court, under house arrest, for driving a vehicle without a driver’s license. The prosecutor’s office specified that the case was closed, having as its object the commission of the crime of manslaughter “since the act is not provided for by the criminal law”.
The prosecutors recalled how the accident happened.
“On 01.06.2022, at 18:37, the defendant CM, while driving a VW car, on DS 516 in the town of Sticlăria, Scobinţi commune, Iași county, without holding a driving license for any category of vehicle, crashed with the front left part of the vehicle on the minor DE-A., 4 years old, who was playing with a group of children on the road and who ran to cross the street, through an unauthorized place, behind a car (Taxi) brand Dacia, stopped in the opposite direction of travel, the accident resulted in the death of the minor”, the press release states.
The public prosecutor’s office attached to the Hârlau District Court also motivated the classification decision regarding the commission of the crime of manslaughter.
