The worst thing for us is for Putin to go south, he is unpredictable

Political scientists, sociologists, analysts, and even psychiatrists around the world are currently guessing what is going on in Vladimir Putin’s head, because he has once again proved that he is an unpredictable ruler.

Comment before novini.bg made Prof. Vladimir Chukov, a famous Arabist, university lecturer and scholar in the field of Middle Eastern and Islamic politics.

His comment was on last night’s address to the nation by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech last night was very revealing, and some moments of it were very disturbing.

Her style reminded me of the times before 1989, and the French described her as “paranoid.”

What I think can be expected later is that the borders of the two separatist republics, Donetsk and Luhansk, are likely to be set.

The scenario that came out more than two months ago will probably happen – to connect the two so-called “people’s republics” with Crimea. The fact that Syria was among the first countries to recognize Donetsk and Luhansk suggests that they are likely to form one major economic unit. Currently, Crimea’s main foreign policy partner is Syria.

Putin’s speech revealed two other “republics” that have so far failed. One is Kharkiv and the other is Odessa.
The second is very sham, practically initiated by the Russian services and it is about clearing accounts. In his address last night, Putin said unequivocally: “We know who has done these things and we will bring them to justice.”

This indicates that his efforts in the future will probably be directed to the south. This worries me a lot, because the Bulgarian communities are very large in Marianopol, which he mentioned, and especially in Odessa.

In my opinion, if there is further military action, it will be in the south.

From now on, it is difficult for me to predict whether Donetsk and Luhansk will remain independent, but if they are connected by an economic corridor, the likelihood of their annexation increases significantly.

At this stage it is difficult to make a definite forecast. I personally did not believe that all this would happen. So far, the Russian leader has not made such a speech – nationalist, denying everything before. Putin’s model is the Russian Empire, not the Soviet Union. All this is a very strong glove for the United States, which is worrying and disturbing.

Turkey and Greece have already announced their rejection of Putin’s decision. However, another thing is strange to me – that they got Bulgaria involved because of weapons. Turkey has built a whole plant for drones in Ukraine, which are used, but not a word is said about them. And they got Bulgaria involved on the occasion of used weapons …

From now on, anything is possible, because Putin is unpredictable, and the worst thing for us is to go south.
