Foreign media emphasize that Randon was born in the year when the US metropolis New York opened its first subway line, but during her long life, the woman survived two world wars, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic.
Randon was declared the world’s oldest living person in April of last year after the death of the previous oldest person, Kane Tanaka of Japan, who was 119 years old.
