The United Arab Emirates has opened the world’s deepest diving pool, complete with an underwater city.

Sheikhdom known for beautiful buildings and lax handling of human rights, already has the world’s tallest skyscraper and the world’s largest shopping mall.

Now Dubai has also opened up an entire underwater city where you can dive down to 60 meters, explore apartments or play games.

According to CNN Poland’s Deepspot had the record with over 45 meters, until Guinness’ record book set the world record for Deep Dive Dubai on 27 June.

The pool is located under an oyster-shaped structure of 1500 square meters and is filled with 14 million liters of fresh water. It should be at least four times larger than any other dive pool in the world.

It also has an underwater movie studio and 56 cameras that will take care of the divers’ safety.

On its website, Deep Dive Dubai warns people who dive there against taking the trip to the world’s tallest skyscraper afterwards – then you have to wait 18-24 hours before moving higher than 300 meters above sea level.

So far, the pool is only open to special guests, but it will be open to the public later in 2021.
