The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt gets a next-gen face lift for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. Additionally, the upgrade is free for game owners on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The next-gen version of The Witcher 3 will get ray tracing, faster loading times and has both expansions and all the extra content. CD Project Red recently announced this on their website.
This is the Complete Edition of the game, so it has both the Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone expansions.
It is not yet clear when the upgrade will be released, but it will of course be possible to buy the new version separately for the next-gen consoles or PC.
In addition, it is also not clear whether you will get the expansions and extra content if you do not own the Complete Edition. We will let you know as soon as we know more about this.
This very generous promotion by CD Project Red seems to tie in well with the policy they have with Cyberpunk 2077. For example, it will get a few months after its launch a free update for next-gen consoles. The developer also announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be delayed again.
