SThe World Health Organization (WHO) has canceled the global state of emergency introduced due to COVID-19, reported Reuters.
“It is with great joy that I declare the end of the emergency related to COVID-19,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The WHO declared a global emergency regarding the spread of the coronavirus on January 30, 2020, and a pandemic was declared on March 11.
In May 2022, WHO experts declared that the end of the pandemic was near. They published brief recommendations for governments to follow regarding infection control, testing, vaccination and disinformation.
