The well-known Russian director and nightingale of the Kremlin Nikita Mikhalkov is hospitalized in serious condition

The Kremlin-controlled Interfax news agency of Russia reports that 77-year-old Mikhalkov is hospitalized with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus, his condition is considered serious, but other propaganda agencies, such as TASS, say Mikhalkov has contracted the flu.

So far, Mikhalkova’s 1994 film ‘Sun Tired’ has gained the most attention, which has received both the Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix and the Oscar in the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category.

Taking advantage of the success, Mikhalkov secured funds for a new project and in 1998 shot the big-budget film The Barber of Siberia. For this film, its creators were awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art.

His father, Sergei Mikhalkov, was the author of the lyrics to the national anthems of the USSR and Russia.
