In May 2019, Natasha Stuart sang in the hearts of the audience in the Australian edition of “The Voice”. With a headscarf she performed the song “I Was Here” by Beyoncé to the jury – and delighted the experts around Boy George (58) and Kelly Rowland (38). Now the singer has died of cancer at the age of 43, as her relatives announced in a post on Instagram.
Stuart, who made it to the finals on The Voice, passed away on Wednesday with her family in a Sydney hospital. The musician was diagnosed with cancer in July 2018 and tried to combat the disease with chemotherapy. The Australian had revealed in an interview that the illness was in her family. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was 14 years old. Particularly sad: On the “The Voice” stage, Stuart, who had both breasts removed, had announced that she was cancer-free.

«I want to be an example that you can be strong»
The musician repeatedly urged other women to be examined and not to go to the doctor too late. “I want to be an example of how you can live your life, be strong and look ahead – no matter what happens,” she said to the Australian platform “9Now”. “I want to encourage everyone to take care of their own health and to be examined immediately if something doesn’t feel right.” Before she appeared on “The Voice”, the Australian had worked as a musician for 20 years and was a resident in 2012 own album released.
