The virus now circulates three times more in Corse-du-Sud than in Haute-Corse

The figures for this Friday concerning the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic in Corsica have been published by Covidtracker.

This Thursday, 38 patients are still hospitalized on the island: 18 in Corse-du-Sud (=), including 3 in intensive care (=), and 20 in Haute-Corse (=), including 4 in intensive care (=).

Over the last seven days, in Corse-du-Sud, 17 new daily cases are detected on average (=). In Haute-Corse, 7 daily cases are detected on average over the last week (=).

Regarding the incidence rate, it is 75 in Corse-du-Sud (+1) and 23 in Haute-Corse (-4). This means that currently the virus is circulating three times more in the south than in the north. Note also that Corse-du-Sud is currently in second position of the departments where the virus circulates the most, with Paris and behind the Bouches-du-Rhône.

The positivity rate is 0.9% in Corse-du-Sud (=) and 0.6% in Haute-Corse (=).

Finally, the vaccination rate is this Wednesday of 79.55% in the south (=), and 69.44% (=) for Haute-Corse.
