The Vela Zanetti Foundation adds the work ‘Self-Portrait’ on temporary loan by José Lino Casquero to its collection

The Vela Zanetti Foundation adds to its collection the work ‘Self-portrait’ by Vela Zanetti, which has been temporarily transferred for exhibition by its owner, José Lino Casquero. The Councilor for Action and Cultural Promotion of the City of León and President of the Board of Trustees of the Vela Zanetti Foundation, Evelia Fernández, and José Lino Casquero have signed this agreement which is valid for three years.

The work is part of a mural set created by Vela Zanetti which was located in a building located in Piazza Don Gutierre and which was discovered by the Lino Casquero construction company following its purchase and subsequent recovery.

‘Self-Portrait’ is a work embodied by the painter and muralist in the house in León where he lived in 1931 and is part of a mural set that was on the walls of the house. In order to preserve the painting, which rests on fiberglass, advanced restoration techniques were applied.
