USA: Washington police call on pro-Trump unarmed protesters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Authorities in Washington on Monday warned supporters of President Donald Trump not to carry firearms during protests scheduled this week in the federal capital to challenge Congress’ certification of the results of the November presidential election. Thousands of supporters of the incumbent Republican president, including members of nationalist and far-right groups who have a habit of carrying guns during protests elsewhere in the country, are scheduled to meet in Washington from Tuesday to protest against the certification, scheduled for Wednesday, of the victory of Democrat Joe Biden.
