The United States of America has asked Norway to conduct a joint international operation to ensure security in the Red Sea. SIA informs that the Norwegian publication “E24” published information about it.
The representative of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eyvind Vad Petersson, announced that such a request had been received. According to him, the application is currently being considered by the authorities.
According to the publication, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation in the Red Sea and is in contact with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association. The association hopes for Norway’s participation in the security operation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
