The US military shot down an octagonal flying object over Lake Huron – February 13, 2023

A flying object was shot down over Lake Huron on the US-Canada border. The operation was carried out by the United States military.

The fact that the fighters carried out the order to shoot down the object was announced on social networks by Congressman Jack Bergman on the evening of February 12. In doing so, he stressed that the American people deserve more answers than they have.

Reuters reportedthat it was an “octagonal object” with dangling filaments but no appreciable payload, which was already approaching the border with Canada. Officials, according to the publication, did not see him as a military threat, but feared that he could interfere with air traffic. The order was given personally by President Joseph Biden, writes Reuters.

Hours earlier, his congresswoman Elissa Slotkin had reported that the military was monitoring an object over Lake Huron, no details were given. Airspace was temporarily closed over Lake Michigan.

This is the fourth such incident since the beginning of the month. Recall that on February 4, the United States shot down a Chinese balloon over its territory. A week later, the same fate befell another flying object over Alaska. Then, on the evening of February 11, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that he had ordered the shooting down of an unidentified object that had violated Canadian airspace over the Yukon. “Canadian and American aircraft were airlifted and an American F-22 successfully strafed the target,” he said. The Pentagon clarifiedthat the US Air Force observed the object first over Alaska, and then after it crossed the border into Canada, then Canadian fighters joined them. As a result, the AIM 9X missile was used “after close coordination between the authorities.”
