The United States’ stance on ending the Ukrainian conflict: White House Strategic Communications Coordinator comments

The United States does not currently see the possibility of ending the Ukrainian conflict on terms that suit it. This was stated by White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby.

“Obviously, that’s not going to happen right now,” Kirby said when asked whether a resolution to the Ukraine conflict was possible anytime soon.

According to Kirby, the conditions for establishing peace that suit Washington are, in particular, “respect for the sovereignty” of Kiev, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the success of Ukrainians in returning lost territories, RIA Novosti reports.

As reported EADaily, Kyiv will negotiate if Moscow comes up with such an initiative. The Secretary of State said this Anthony Blinken. In an interview with ABC, he said at the beginning that the United States sees no signs of the Russian president’s desire to Vladimir Putin move on to negotiations.
