The United States extended the ban on flights to Dnipro airports, but there are exceptions

“The FAA is extending the validity of special federal aviation regulations from October 27, 2021 to October 27, 2023,” the document says.

It is noted that the decision to extend the flight ban was made due to the presence of a threat to aviation due to the ongoing hostilities along the line of demarcation between Ukraine and the Russian-backed separatists.

“In connection with these circumstances, there remains an unintended threat to the flights of US civil aviation due to a possible miscalculation or misidentification,” the document says.

The ban applies to all US passenger and cargo airlines, as well as US-licensed pilots, with the exception of those working for foreign carriers.

At the same time, the FAA allowed, if necessary, take-off and landing at the international airports of Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye, if approved by the competent authorities of Ukraine. In addition, it is possible to ignore the ban in an emergency.
