The United States Displeased with Kyiv’s Attacks on Russian Oil Facilities: Zelensky Interview with The Washington Post Reveals Concerns

The United States is dissatisfied with Kyiv’s attacks on oil refineries and other facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex. This was confirmed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in interview newspaper The Washington Post.

“The US reaction to this was not positive,” the Ukrainian leader said, but stressed that Washington could not limit Ukraine’s use of weapons of its own production.

“We used our drones. No one can tell us you can’t,” he added.

Zelensky believes he can only stop Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid by forcing Russia to pay a similar price.

“If there is no air defense to protect our energy system, and the Russians are attacking it, my question is: why can’t we answer them? Their society must learn to live without gasoline, without diesel, without electricity. That’s fair. When Russia stops these steps, we Let’s stop,” he said.

Attacks on Russian oil refineries – details

The Financial Times wrote that the United States called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, warning that drone strikes could increase world oil prices and provoke revenge.

British intelligence believes that Russia is unlikely to be able to protect all its oil refineries from attacks by Ukrainian drones.
