Ndicka, who always remained conscious according to images from the DAZN platform, was quickly evacuated on a stretcher and gave a thumbs up to indicate that he was fine.
AS Roma then indicated on its X account (ex Twitter) that the player “felt better and had morale” and posted a photo of Ndicka sitting in his hospital bed, brandishing his right fist, his face calm.
“He will remain under observation in the hospital” where he received a visit from his trainer Daniele De Rossi and its captain Lorenzo Pellegrinibefore their departure for Rome, Roma added.
The referee decided after long minutes of discussions with the Roma staff to stop the match, a decision which was greeted with applause from the spectators at the Bluenergy Stadium.
The score was 1-1 when the match was stopped. It is moreover Romelu Lukaku who scored the equalizer for Roma (64′). The Red Devil, scorer of his 11th goal in Serie A this season, had not scored since March 2.
According to Italian Football League regulations, the match will resume in the 72nd minute on a date yet to be determined.
