The UAE national team defeated its Kuwaiti counterpart 1-0 in the friendly international match that brought them together this Thursday evening, at Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club.
The match was held during the current internal camp, as part of the national team’s preparations for the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup finals.
The only goal of the match was scored by Tahnoon Al Zaabi in the 27th minute of the first half.
The UAE national team players, whose squad was dominated by young players, gave a good performance throughout the two halves of the match, and their players wasted many opportunities, and the Kuwaiti national team abandoned its caution in the second half and exchanged attacks on Ali Khaseef’s goal, but without scoring the net.
This is the second successive victory for the UAE national team under the leadership of its coach, Paulo Bento, after its first victory over the Costa Rica national team last September.
The UAE national team will play its second friendly match against its Lebanese counterpart next Tuesday during its current camp.
