The U.S. Billboard Single is Topped by BTS Jimin, the First K-Pop Solo Artist

Jimin of the group BTS became the first K-pop solo singer to top the US Billboard’s main single chart ‘Hot 100’ with his solo album title song ‘Like Crazy’.

Billboard released the names of the top 10 songs on this week’s single chart through its official Twitter today (4th).

Jimin performed prominent songs such as pop star Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers’, sensational country singer Morgan Wallen’s ‘Last Night’, and SZA’s ‘Kill Bill’. and rose to the top.

BTS is the only K-pop singer who has topped the Billboard Hot 100 until now, both solo and group.

BTS has a total of 6 No. 1 songs on the ‘Hot 100’, starting with the global hit song ‘Dynamite’ in 2020 and ending with ‘My Universe’ in 2021.

Jimin became the first K-pop singer to reach the top of the ‘Hot 100’ both as an individual and as a group.

Among K-pop solo singers, the previous highest ranking on the ‘Hot 100’ chart was Psy, who ranked second for 7 consecutive weeks with ‘Gangnam Style’, which sparked a global craze in 2012.

Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ is ranked by combining US streaming data and sales data.
