Signposts or the so-called turn signals of cars have one main task – to show other road users the direction of movement of the car. A curious fact is that with the Mini brand, however, the turn signals can confuse other road users, or at least according to our colleagues from Jalopnik.
They claim the signposts of some cars The Mini is pointed in the wrong direction, giving the example of the Mini Countryman’s taillights.
It’s all about the design features of the taillights, whose model is made in the image of the British flag (Union Jack). The light section in the “stops” also serves as a signpost. This section, responsible for the turn signals, forms an arrow, and strangely enough, this arrow points in the opposite direction. An example is in the video below.
Jalopnik’s editors contacted the Mini’s press service, where they assured them that drivers should have no problems due to the design features of the turn signals. Mini chooses Union Jack’s taillights to highlight the brand’s British heritage.
As for the design of the turn signals, when drivers see the entire rear of the car, they should have no problem understanding where the car will turn, the company said. But is that so? See and share your opinion in the comments.
