The party of Matteo Salvini scoops in Sicily. While the secretary of the Carroccio is in Palermo for the case Open Arms on charges of kidnapping and refusal of official acts, several new entries in the League help to strengthen the party in the Region. It is about three new entries in Agrigento, a new municipal councilor in Catania and another in Palermo.
And it is precisely in the Sicilian capital that the Carroccio makes great strides forward. Indeed, as he reports the Adnkronos, reaches 4 exponents at Palazzo delle Aquile, exactly like Forza Italia’s Silvio Berlusconi. The Northern League leader, just today in Palermo for the preliminary hearing, was thus able to touch and see closely the growth of the party, led at the regional level by Nino Minardo.
As party sources say, Matteo Salvini, having taken note of this new triumph, is already thinking about the next battle: the one over waste. The League, in fact, has already requested the construction of two waste-to-energy plants to prevent and avoid the garbage emergency on the Sicilian island. Meanwhile, today the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Palermo requested the indictment of the Northern League leader for the Open Arms case, which dates back to August 2019, when Salvini, at the time of the facts Minister of the Interior, prohibited the landing in Lampedusa of 147 migrants rescued at sea by the ship of the Spanish NGO.
