The Transfusion Center of the Community of Madrid has convened special days of blood donation until January 5 and has exceptionally opened this Sunday, January 3. From the Transfusion Center, donors are invited to receive as a thank you, for their generosity, an individual roscón de Reyes typical of these special dates.
Speaking to Europa Press Televisión, the managing director of the Community of Madrid Transfusion Center, Luisa Barea, has encouraged Madrilenians to donate, since the levels are “quite low” and “blood is needed from all groups but especially the negatives. ” In addition, it indicates that next week, with the full operation of the hospital activity, “900 bags of blood will be needed daily to cover all the needs of the people of Madrid.”
The donation rooms of the 12 de Octubre, Clínico, La Paz, Ramón y Cajal, Puerta de Hierro and Hospital de Móstoles hospitals, as well as La Princesa and Severo Ochoa de Leganés, will remain open to receive donors during these days. In addition, there will be mobile units located in different parts of the Community of Madrid.
Likewise, all hospital points and mobile units with their addresses and hours for the weekend and the rest of the days can be consulted on the website ‘www.madrid.org/donarsangre’.
Due to the restrictions on mobility through Basic Health Zones, Barea has pointed out that those who want to donate can send an email and they will be sent “a pass by SMS so that they can go to make their donations without problems.”
