The woman had just left the yard and was between two parked cars, when the drugged driver came at speed and hit the cars.
The victim was caught between the beasts and later died at the hospital. Witnesses say the driver appeared incoherent and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
After testing, it was discovered that the man tested positive for amphetamine and had a blood alcohol level of 1.12 mg/l.
The man was remanded in custody for 30 days.
