More than a month later, the bodies of the 11 missing passengers on the Eurofeli Olympia ferry were found, President of the Union of Bulgarian Transport Workers Alexander Stamboliiski was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.
The fire broke out on February 18 in the wee hours of the night. After him, seven Bulgarians were unknown, most of them truck drivers.

Stamboliiski explained that the relatives of the victims were informed and gave DNA samples. They are currently being analyzed by Greek experts.
“Almost strong cars and trucks were found in the holds. There is some damage to them, which will be established, “said the president of the Union of Bulgarian Transport Workers.
“The actions after the fire were very adequate. Firefighting and rescue measures were taken fairly quickly. But the circumstances that the ferry was in the water and there was no port nearby made the operation difficult, “said Alexander Stamboliiski.

We remind you that three of the missing were drivers from Blagoevgrad region – 53-year-old Vasil Assenov from Razlog and Dimitar Grancharov from Hadjidimovo, Sandanski resident Georgi Mahleliev, Sofia residents Vasil Markov and Dimitar Boyadzhiev and a driver from Plovdiv. The ferry traveled to the Italian city of Brindisi.
