For those who love fish and want to try something Latin, we recommend a very simple recipe to prepare snacks or zakuskas, as they call light food in latgale, which is usually enjoyed before the main meal, between meals or on the occasion of parties and other entertainment events.
Ingredients:
- 1 herring
- 4 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 onion
- 1-2 sour apples
- 100 g of butter
- greens
Preparation:
- Herring can be soaked in milk for an hour before cooking. Grind herring, boiled eggs, onion, apples in a meat grinder. Add the butter at room temperature. Mix everything.
- To make the mass more airy, it is mixed.
- Place on a flat plate and sprinkle with vegetables.
- Can be used as a spread on sandwiches.
