The Timeless Legacy of ‘The Elusive Avengers’: A Look Back at the Iconic Film

The expression was heard even by those who did not watch the film.

“The Elusive Avengers” was filmed in 1967. But they still haven’t lost their popularity. Several generations grew up on the adventures of Ksanka, Yashka the Gypsy and company.

The success of the film was ensured by an interesting script and excellent work by the actors. And, of course, a dose of humor, without which it is impossible to imagine the “little red devils.”

Few people know that funny moments were added to the script last. Initially, Edmond Keosayan wanted to make a more serious film. But senior management recommended that he add humorous elements.

The director obeyed. It was thanks to this that a cowardly soldier appeared in the script, brilliantly played by Savely Kramarov. And the legendary phrase: “And along the road the dead stand with scythes. And silence…”. Now even those who have never seen the movie know it.
