The King on Thursday called on politicians to drop the exclusives of each other and install a full-service government during a speech to the country’s authorities.

“The time has come to crystallize the efforts of the past eight months, drop the exclusives and install a full-service government. Even if I am aware of the difficulties to overcome. Let us be realistic and responsible. By finding common ground for the benefit of the general interest. By making real compromises, that is to say agreements where everyone gives up something so that the whole wins, “he said.
“This is the legitimate expectation of our fellow citizens, who aspire to stability and action. Their patience is not indifference, “he added.
Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès also called for the rapid formation of a full-service government. In his eyes, a “frank dialogue between all democrats is essential”.
“Beyond the differences, the future of our country and our society depends on our ability to build bridges rather than cut them,” she said.
Legislative elections were held on May 26 and, despite three fact-finding missions and one pre-training mission, the formation of a federal government is still at an impasse.
Tuesday, the King extended the mission of informants Georges-Louis Bouchez (MR) and Joachim Coens (CD & amp; V). They have tried in the past two weeks to find common ground between the country’s two largest political parties – the PS and the N-VA – without success.
