The Threat of Nuclear War Rises from Ex-Russian President

Jakarta

Threat nuclear war comes from Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Medvedev called for the possibility of nuclear war if the International Criminal Court (ICC) took steps to punish Moscow for alleged war crimes in Ukraine.

Reported by AFP, Wednesday (6/7/2022), the ICC itself is known to be investigating alleged war crimes in the invasion of Indonesia Ukraine. Medvedev thinks the idea of punishing a country that has nuclear weapons is absurd.

“The idea of punishing a country with the largest nuclear arsenal is simply absurd,” Medvedev, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, said in a telegram statement.

“And potentially create a threat to the existence of mankind,” he stressed.

To note, Medvedev served as President of Russia in the period 2008-2012. Medvedev currently serves as Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council.

He further accused the United States of wanting to put Russia before an international tribunal, while the United States itself has never faced punishment for the war it initiated itself, which according to Medvedev, has killed 20 million people worldwide.
