The expansion works of the ‘Y’ arrive with news. The third lane that, along almost five kilometers of the A-66, is being prepared between the Oviedo ring road and the La Fresneda junction will allow the noise generated by traffic to be reduced by more than 15% once the works, in which the Ministry of Infrastructure is investing more than 22 million euros.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Alejandro Calvo, to questions posed by Ciudadanos. However, how will that noise be reduced? García recalled that in 2017 a noise measurement was established that yields a result of 77 decibels when the maximum allowed daytime noise is 65. Since then, he regretted, there have been no interventions in the area despite the mayor’s complaints.
