Karima Mukhtar was born on July 16, 1934 AD in the city of Sahel in Assiut Governorate, and in 1963 she obtained a BA from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art

Karima Mukhtar was married once in her life, she was from the late director “Nour Al-Demerdash”, from whom she had four children: the media “Moataz Al-Demerdash”, the director “Ahmed” and the engineer “Sharif”, in addition to his son “Heba”.

Karima Mokhtar started her artistic career on the radio through the children’s program “Bab Sharo” in the fifties, and through it she became famous as a distinguished radio voice, fluent in presenting dramas through the radio, until she was offered to participate in some movies, but her family refused that offer, Her work was limited to radio.

Until the opportunity came to her again, after her marriage to the director Nour Al-Demerdash in 1958, which facilitated her participation in the movie “The Price of Freedom” in 1964.

Karima Mokhtar presented the role of the mother in the Egyptian cinema with a large group of films such as “The Price of Freedom”, “The Impossible”, “We do not sow thorns”, “The Age Train”, “The Grandchild”, and “Amir My Love I” “With the parents Ihssana” ” Satan preaches, “” Saad the orphan. “

Despite her features, she carries a great deal of kindness and a smiling smile, but this did not prevent her from presenting the role of a harsh Pharaonic woman in the religious series, “There is no god but God.”

Karima Mokhtar formed a two-time period with screen monster Farid Shawky, and together they presented a number of works that were dominated by the comedic character, most notably “A Man Who Lost His Mind”, “The Promised Night” and “O Lord, Born”, and the series “Scrooge and Me”

During her artistic career, the Egyptian artist won many awards and honors, where she won an honorary award at the end of the works of the National Theater Festival in 2010 for her entire artwork, and an honorary award from the Ministry of Health and UNICEF in 2008 for her efforts in the educational film on bird flu.

She won a prize for the best actress for her role in the series “Up to P Ezo” from the thirteenth Cairo Arab Media Festival in 2007 AD, in addition to an honorary shield from the Egyptian Film Festival Oscar in 2008.
