The terrible injury of the scandalous NHL hockey player. A fountain of blood splashed across the ice

The opponent cut Kane’s arm with a skate. The attacker asked for help.

Edmonton striker Evander Kane ended the game with Tampa earlier than expected after receiving a terrible injury. When he ran into the locker room, shaking his bloody hand, the reporters heard shouts: “Help, help!”

The first period of the match between “Tampa” and “Edmonton” began with a goal conceded by “lightning” Warren Vogel, and then an abandoned record by Brandon Hagel, which closed Nikita Kucherov’s exact pass. For the Russian, this assist marked the eleventh consecutive game in which he scores points. Our striker’s record for this indicator is 12 matches, which he can repeat in the next match with Washington.

Despite the transfer, however, Kucherov fails to record the game with the Oilers to his credit: in addition to the assist, he did not score with useful actions, but retired, which Edmonton took advantage of. In addition, Nikita suffered several offensive losses and the perfect shot did not work due to a ridiculous accident, for example due to a broken inventory. Kucherov expressed dissatisfaction with him right on the ice, breaking his stick on the Oilers goal frame after another failed attempt to score.

The match ended with a score of 3: 2, although the referee managed to obliterate one more goal for each team. But the meeting was not remembered at all by the result, but by the terrible injury of Kane, one of the main attackers of the “oilmen”. At the beginning of the second period, following a game episode, he falls on the field with his hand on the ice, and at that moment Patrick Maroon, the Tampa striker, skates on top of him. The episode happened in a split second and the audience didn’t immediately understand what had happened. But Kane’s reaction was instant: he jumped up from the ice, which was immediately covered in a fountain of blood, and ran into the locker room.

The reporters who were in the room under the stands at that moment heard shouting: “Help, help, help.” They even managed to roll out a stretcher on the ice, but the hockey player, who assessed the situation in a split second, turned out to be faster than the medical staff.

After the episode was repeated on television, fans could appreciate how scary it was from the outside. Apparently, Maroon did not intentionally injure Kane, but due to such an injury, with severe tendon damage, a hockey player can not only end his career, but also have problems with hand sensitivity.

Fans held their breath and waited for news from the Edmonton field. The vast majority expressed their support for the hockey player, although there were also heartless people who remembered that Kane’s past wasn’t the rosiest.

The fact is that the Canadian forward’s reputation in the NHL is ambiguous. In the past he was suspected of betting with the former San Jose club, then the ex-girlfriend accused him of beating up. All of these episodes have not been proven, but the “sharks” have left Kane amidst the scandals. Other than that, his personal qualities were in question and many hockey players behind him called him a “cancer” in the locker room, suggesting that he could bring conflict to any team.

However, all of this has long since ended: last season, Kane once again demonstrated his high skills in hockey, literally signing for a penny for his level of play with Edmonton and making a significant contribution to the team reaching the Stanley Cup semi-finals. He signed a new deal with the Oilers over the summer and was determined to continue benefiting from the club, which had renewed faith in him. And then a shocking injury.

According to the latest reports, Kane’s condition is stable. Immediately from the arena, he was transferred to a Tampa hospital where he will be operated on in the near future. For some time he will surely be left without hockey, the team doctors will determine the times later.
