The company does this largely as a price fighter, but it also releases high-end TVs. The TCL C845 is one of the top models from the 2023 range. The device is packed with features that will appeal to gamers and is controlled by a mini LED backlight with a multitude of local dimming zones, which should provide clear images and high contrasts. A quantum dot filter should make the colors splash off the screen.
The TV is available in four sizes: 55, 65, 75 and 85″. For this test, we started with the 65” model, for which you currently pay 1399 euros. With that price, the device seems mainly the Samsung’s 300 euro more expensive QN85C. However, if we look at the specifications, the C845 also seems to be able to compete with Samsung’s higher-end QN90C. The C845 also achieves brightness peaks of over 2000cd/m² in HDR mode and if you open the brightness setting to full in sdr mode, more than 1000cd/m² is tapped.In the meantime, the C845 also has more local dimming zones than Samsung’s TV, while the 65″ variant of the QN90C is no less than 1300 euros more expensive than TCLs new screen. This makes the device seem like an excellent choice for use in rooms with a lot of ambient light, but is the 65C845 also a Samsung killer?
