Two years ago, WorkPress Aviation lost its founder under tragic circumstances. But now she is fighting for another existence alone. The tax office wants over 60 million crowns from it and has issued precautionary orders for twenty million.
“The tax office questioned the cooperation with our supplier for the years 2014 and 2015. It demands payment of the tax, which we have already paid once,” said the company’s director Jiří Heckel. He added that the hedging order is also reflected in negotiations with banks. “The kneeling of the tax office reduces the credibility of our company,” he said.
The office did not respond to the accusation of the company, which claims that it wants to liquidate it without reason. “In this case, the financial administration is not deprived of confidentiality,” said Michaela Hošťálková from the Tax Office for the Pilsen Region.

The tax office filed a criminal complaint against the company’s representative. He was charged with tax cuts, but the prosecutor then stopped the prosecution, saying no crime had taken place. According to the resolution of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, some of the claims of the tax office are “mutually contradictory” and interpret the evidence inaccurately or incompletely.
Although law enforcement has found that there is nothing to charge with WorkPress Aviation, the financial administration insists. The company also failed with a complaint to the appellate financial directorate in Brno. However, even its spokeswoman Veronika Dvořáková did not want to say anything more with reference to confidentiality. “As we have not been released from the legal obligation of confidentiality, we cannot add further details,” she said.

The company wants to defend itself against the procedure of financial administration in court. The state also sued for damages. Similar disputes have already taken place and the Supreme Administrative Court has criticized the issuance of arrest warrants in some cases. The situation has also recently been addressed by the House Budget Committee.
The deputies wanted an explanation for the testimony of one of the officials that the tax office from Valašské Meziříčí confiscated the companies’ assets only in order to meet the unofficial quota. However, the Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová (for YES) assured that this is not a common practice. “The personnel consequences were deduced from this, the relevant disciplinary proceedings were initiated,” she emphasized.
According to statistics, the number of hedging orders issued has been declining in recent years. Compared to 2015, there were about five hundred fewer of them last year.
