The world’s tallest woman, Rumeisa Gelgi, wants to use her Guinness World Record this week to draw attention to different people, Reuters reported.
With her 2.15 m, Rumeisa Gelgi has always stood out. She was born with Weaver syndrome, a rare genetic disease that causes rapid growth and other abnormalities in the body.
“Being different is not as bad as you think,” said 24-year-old Gelgi, leaning proudly on a walker. “It can bring unexpected success.”

This is her second world record since she was recognized as the tallest teenager in the world in 2014, when she was 18 years old.
Rumeisa Gelgi usually travels with a stroller or walker. She says she wants to use her title to raise awareness about rare genetic diseases, such as Weaver Syndrome.
“I think differences and other characteristics that look like a disadvantage can be turned into an advantage if one wants it and makes an effort. That’s exactly what I did.”
The tallest man in the world, Sultan Kosen, who was 2.51 meters tall in 2018, is also from Turkey.
