AMLO will ask the TEPJF to specify scope regarding morning hours

Faced with a new request from the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation to edit the morning conferences, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that in response, they will send a letter to the magistrates to specify the scope of the decision. In his case, he said, they could ask that these conferences remain on the official platforms for 24 hours and then be downloaded to recover them in their entirety after the elections.

In a conference, he said that there is no clarity in the request and how the requirements could be met since the TEPJF confirmed the resolution of the National Electoral Institute that ordered the Presidency to edit the conferences to avoid affecting the fairness of the contest.

“There is no precision. How are we going to do something that is live? This is something new. Let’s see what we can do. The Court has already ruled that they cannot censor us and we have to guarantee the right to information.

We have already dictated it to be sent today, let’s see what they respond to us to comply with their recommendation. Editing it could also be them telling us to lower it and we will lower it. Give us the opportunity to have it complete for 24 hours and it will be downloaded. Until the 2nd of June.”
